Buffet or menu of the day? It's not an easy choice! Depending on location, the student union canteens give students the choice between different main meals, side dishes and cheap menus of the day alongside the extensive selection of food in the buffets. Students with vegetarian and vegan diets are also well catered for - there are always vegetarian and vegan dishes to choose from, as well as meat-free ones. No matter what dish you choose, the highest quality standards still apply. Many ingredients come from controlled organic farms or from regional producers, and to give you even more variety, there are many special promotions like international weeks or goodies fresh from the barbecue in summer.

A hit with students and a prize-winning establishment: zeughaus canteen im Marstall. Its success lies in its unique ingredient: until 10pm, students can put together meals exactly how they like it from the hot or cold buffet. The food served on the buffet ranges from soups and salads, vegetables, meat and fish, right up to sweet dishes and desserts. Everything is freshly prepared and, if possible, always using local produce.
Payment is easy: simply weigh your meal and pay. If you'd like to treat yourself to something special, then we recommend the large Sunday brunch: it's got seasonal specialities and breakfast classics, as well as a large selection of muesli and cornflakes, crusty breads and croissants, and fresh waffles or crêpes.

Crispy chicken, mediterranean pasta dishes or just some chips? There's a great variety of food on offer at Heidelberg's largest canteen on the science campus. Students can pick and choose what they like from a huge range of different foods. The Zentralmensa is also open during semester breaks.

The friendly atmosphere is what makes the smallest canteen in Heidelberg special. At midday, the Mensa Alte PH (University of Education) receives fresh deliveries straight from the Zentralmensa so students can enjoy a warm lunch right where they study. You can find classic dishes like schnitzel and fries alongside the lunch menu.
If you fancy a vegetarian meal, then you can grab a plate at the salad bar and make up your meal with different fresh leaf and raw vegetable salads. And if there's time, kitchen staff can prepare something on request. There's also a special service for students with children: kids get to play in the play corner.

Students on the Bildungscampus can look forward to a wide range of dishes both from the area and abroad six days a week. Vegetarians and meat-eaters alike are catered for in this sleek and open-plan canteen. Students can watch their meals being cooked in front of their eyes at the open kitchen station.

The newly renovated canteen at the Campus Sontheim, that also has a big terrace, provides its guests with an abundant buffet, set in a bright and modern ambience. Vegetarians are guaranteed to also find a tasty meal within the range of dishes, the price of which is calculated based on the food's weight.

FYI: just like in Heidelberg, you use CampusCard to pay in Heilbronn. Heilbronn students don't have to eat at their own institute; they can also go to other locations.
Located in the middle of Hohenloher Land is the academic gem of the Reinhold-Würth-University Künzelsau, which is also part of Heilbronn University. So that students don't only have access to mental nutrition, the team at the Künzelsau canteen take care of providing great food as well. Here you can put together a meal every day according to your tastes and using different ingredients. And of course, there is always at least one vegetarian dish on the menu. Crispy salads from the buffet as well as delicious desserts round off the selection.

This has been made possible thanks to the cooperation between Heidelberg student union and regional suppliers.
